@Deputy101268 agreed. Is that the law? For open carry you need a license and permit on you?
By: He101A. on 19 Mar 10, 04:39:47
@lostmatt That's not what I am saying you dolt! If you carry a gun in the city, you are asking for trouble. Just use common sense. If you carry a gun openly in public, the sheep people will call the cops on you.
By: Endureth. on 19 Mar 10, 00:44:31
I've seen this guy's videos from time to time and I've come to the conclusion that he's an asshat.
By: lostmatt. on 18 Mar 10, 16:33:42
@He101A Yes we should always bow down to the almighty LEO who knows all. *rolls eyes*
By: nucklefuster. on 18 Mar 10, 16:01:01
I think my analogy is fair. In some area's it is supposedly illegal to drive without a licence, or insurance. It is supposedly illegal to carry a firearm as a felon. Should officers be able to randomly pull vehicles over to check their papers in America. In America, if you are not commiting a crime you should be free to travel, without proving your innocents. I think we would be better off if everyone had a gun or two on their hip.
By: Deputy101268. on 18 Mar 10, 10:24:33
@nucklefuster Apples to Oranges, Felons can legally drive a car, they cannot carry a firearm. Its a public safety issue. The public is uneasy about people who OC. Therefore they call the Police, who then respond. There should be laws on the books stating that if you OC, you must have valid ID with you, and present it to an LEO when asked. How hard would that be?
By: nucklefuster. on 18 Mar 10, 05:02:08
With all due respect sir, are officers allowed to stop a vehicle just to see if the driver has a license?
By: climberdave189. on 18 Mar 10, 04:18:05
Good for you upholding your 2nd amendment right, bad for your friend who is dressed like Clark Griswald from Family Vacation and acting like a dumb ass.. just give the ID and go on your way.. dont make the rest of us look like asses.
By: Dytonic. on 18 Mar 10, 00:25:59
no if a felon was walking around with a gun it would be illegal, since he obviously is able to own a firearm, he has NO felonies and is not breaking any law. I do agree that cooperation is the easiest and quickest way to get through these situations.
By: He101A. on 17 Mar 10, 12:54:18
Just show the I.D. to the cops, don't be difficult and waste their time. They are very busy people. You are tying up police resources.
By: truckindawg1. on 17 Mar 10, 04:20:26
Oh and Craig, it's better to have people just think your stupid than to open your mouth and remove all question. No stupid a felon cannot even posess a gun or even peper spray. Geez I can't believe the stupid crap that comes out of uneducated mouths
By: truckindawg1. on 17 Mar 10, 04:16:30
Great video. Don't let them push you around. I don't know about in nh but in Cali if you are not free to go you are legally under arrest. False arrest. That would be like arresting you for going to church. False arrest.
By: p20. on 17 Mar 10, 01:26:05
This was a cool video.. but I would have just complied :) Usually cooperation is the quickest way to get rid of them.
By: craigstephenfoulon. on 15 Mar 10, 23:51:34
So some ghetto'd out gangster thug walking down the street with a pistol on his hip whom has 2 previous felonies is not legally able to be stopped? So instead of gangsters wearing illegally in their waistband, they will wear outside their pants and the cops won't stop him. Thats insane.
By: 390galaxie. on 15 Mar 10, 20:57:28
They CANNOT stop and detain without probable cause. Man With A Gun is not probabl cause. Legally, the police could be charged with illegal search and seizure. And it is not a Concealed Carry License. It is called a License To Carry Firearms. You do not need a LTCF to open carry, but you need one to conceal or carry in vehicle. In PA, Supreme Court ruled police cannot stop without probable cause. That's the way it should be everywhere else.
By: FuckTheCHP. on 15 Mar 10, 18:39:16
I'd love to have a cop beat my ass for no reason. My lawyer would get me a six figure settlement after commission and have the officer fired just for the fun of it.
By: FuckTheCHP. on 15 Mar 10, 15:22:48
Open carry is exercising ones right to personal safety. I shouldn't have to choose between sacrificing my personal safety, or my personal time when a cop wants to harass me.
By: FuckTheCHP. on 15 Mar 10, 15:21:20
FUKC SHIT WORK WORK WORK!!!
By: FuckTheCHP. on 15 Mar 10, 15:20:52
I highly doubt the founding fathers envisioned the second amendment having so many laws written against it. If I have a weapon on my hip, I'm not only exercising that basic right, but my right to personal safety. Personal safety doesn't warrant the harassment from some pussy hiding behind a Kevlar vest, a cute little badge and an entire force of armed backup.
By: FuckTheCHP. on 15 Mar 10, 15:13:01
Hahaha, nice try craig. Cops can't pick and choose the laws they find convenient to enforce. And I've fucking dared cops to kick my ass. They know my lawyer would easily get a settlement bigger than their yearly salary (I've already gotten two cases against myself thrown out because, hear this, THE COPS BROKE THE LAW. Funny how the law works huh?) And why should I give a cop my ID when he asks? That's like doing their job for them. I'm not earning a commission of their salary.
By: craigstephenfoulon. on 15 Mar 10, 14:31:07
I agree 100%. Cops should stop people who open carry just to verify they are legally able to do so. But since that is really not a reason to stop someone, I can also agree with the guy not wanting to give his ID. I can play devils advocate on both sides of this fence. They should change the law to saying open carry is legal but an officer is able to stop you to make sure your legal to do so.
By: craigstephenfoulon. on 15 Mar 10, 14:28:22
A cop will beat your ass for no reason. This guy is just lucky he had on his video camera. A cop asks for your id, you better give it no matter what because they can say whatever once in court and guess who the judge will side on? I feel while open carrying, an officer should be allowed to stop someone to make sure they are not a felon.
By: Deputy101268. on 15 Mar 10, 14:19:39
The reason is he had a gun, and if he was a Felon that is an arrestable offense. I think he would do more to further his cause by just showing ID when asked, he can still open carry, but show some respect for LE, who are just trying to do thier job.
By: Deputy101268. on 15 Mar 10, 14:16:19
I am all for Open carry by honest citizens, but I believe a person should show ID if asked. Otherwise how is LE going to know if you own/carry the gun legally? Also, this type of thing could backfire and change open carry laws for the worse.
By: craigstephenfoulon. on 14 Mar 10, 18:04:14
This guy was obviously trying to exercise his right to open carry and aggravate the officers, but in the same notion, there would be no need to aggravate these officers if there is no reason for him to be stopped. He has a CCW and is open carrying? He was asking for trouble but at the same time practicing his right to open carry. I think an officer does have the right to stop someone who is open carrying to verify they are legally able to do so. Not a felon.
