The reason the military was brought in was because it was becoming violent. It was a tragedy that the 4 kids were needlessly killed but they were also throwing rocks and other items at the guardsmen so them weren't completely innocent. They definitely did not deserve to be killed.

Really.... whats the big deal!????? the big deal is that under Nixon, his police went to siez a simple protest of the war in Vietnam! but instead of just stoping the protest.. or maybe taking some protesters into custody... the police just decided to open fire on these students!!! do you really think this is the way to solve american problems as simple as this???? do you know how many people would be dead if this is how we solved all of our problems!!! I remember Kent Sate tradgey very well My mom and I lit candles for the four students. I was 15. Both my mom and I cried for days. Each May 4th I still lit four candles in thier honnor. It should not have happened but it did. NEVER forget the four who did not get to live out thier lives, hopes and dreams. Protester were never killed it was four by standards that were not apart of any of the events that took place between the protester and soldiers. Also the protesters are not innocent themselse they had been rioting the day before and had buried down a college building that cause injures to more bystandards.
