Gemtrust Open-Source Electronic Notary Journal

GemTrust is a fully customizable application program using the SigNotary ActiveX control to record all requisite information in a notarial transaction, including electronic signature and fingerprint, if necessary. The open-source nature of the fully-functional sample application software allows businesses to use GemTrust as a component of their own products or services and to meet the demands of their individual state requirements. GemTrust notary journal and the SigNotary ActiveX control and associated source code automate all of the handwritten signature aspects of notary-journal applications, leaving each business free to add notary certificates, digital signatures, web services, and otherwise differentiate their notary products and services.
Through the GemTrust journal system and SigNotary control, Topaz provides an out-of-the box ability to bind and store signatures to the complete notary record in a form that is secure and capable of authentication. All of the tools available using a notary journal are available, including the ability to record document information, comments, whether the notarization was an oath or acknowledgment, or if the signer was identified by personal knowledge or by a credible witness. GemTrust uniquely links a notary record to the electronic document with an 8-digit receipt key, which may be used to validate both the integrity of the original document and the link to the eNotary record. Database reports are automatically generated with the click of a button for quick and easy review and reference.
